Nice view across the sea (if you are lucky to get the two apartments, out of the four at the top, that actually offer a view). Clean room and nice breakfast. The restaurant down below is really good. Close access to the hiking trails to the more remote beaches which are stunning :)

I'd expect the apartment to have a door that can actually be locked properly at this price range. The taxi they arrange for you can be kinda scammy: luckily other people joined so the price was ok, but they'll charge you around 40$ if you are the only passenger (I paid 10$ on my way to Drake when I had arranged the transfer on my own).

A favorite location that we are glad we visited

We did ask for rooms together and at first we were assigned one room near the beach and one WAY up a hill - and it's a steep enough cement drive that it was going to seriously interfere with our families interacting. Carlos was SUPER helpful in getting this resolved for us - he worked hard to give us the best possible outcome. The rooms were a bit quirky and older - but nice and clean with great views!! The staff was super, the location perfect, and the restaurant very handy.

I rate the room with a medium face because the bathroom arrangement is up uneven steps and slippery for night-time visits, the light on the air conditioner lit the room up like a full moon. Some of the rooms were a little crowded, but honestly we spent most of our time outside (which is kind of the point of Costa Rica!)

Great view and fantastic room/bathroom. Loved the ice maker for water!

Be prepared for many steps to your room
