Beautiful view from an old hotel
We went as a family of 4 (2 kids and 2 Adults). The View of Mt Fuji is fantastic and the kids rated the breakfast 10/10. The general service was good, staff were polite and it was very clean. We really enjoyed our first experience of the Onsen and the one on the upper floor has a superb view of Mt Fuji which we went to at sunset, it was spectacular. The Hotel has a shuttle to transport guests to an from Yanamakako town as it's a steep walk up the hill. This was very handy. The grounds are lovely and the view of Mt Fuji and surrounds from the courtyard is stunning.
We tried to book a family room for all 4 of us but we couldn't so we had to have 2 rooms. The leaflet they give you on arrival about the hotel services I don't think has been translated correctly. The Cafe opening times are incorrect, it closes at 5.30pm (leaflet says it opens at 5.30pm. The instructions for the use of the Onsen are a bit confusing, it says you need to wear the robe and slippers to and from the onsen but then it says it's against the rules to wear the robe and slippers in the hallways and elevators. When we used the Onsen nearly everyone wore their western clothes into the area before showering. Hardly any of the local Japanese wore the robes. The times for the shuttle are also not vey accurate. You can call the shuttle from the 7-Eleven in Yanamakako at any time and it will come and get you. The building is very old as well but it's fine, I think if you request a room facing Fuji you may get it. We could see Fuji from our windows but it was a neck-stretch to see it. I hope these comments are constructive and can help the hotel as it has a lot of potential.

Disappointing
Breakfast was not good and expensive. Same w dinner buffet. French restaurant better but overpriced. Hard to get transport to/from hotel. Rooms very outdated.
Room tiny. Bed not comfortable. Staff didn’t know about area/activities, but nice.
