Average option for a one night stay

Adequate for a night's stay in a small town while travelling through, with beautiful views of the Castle, clean, and welcoming staff at check in. However, guest services are mininmal and the accomodation overall very average. Disapointingly, being it a Saturday, the on-site restaurant closed after lunch for the night - luckily there was a nearby pub open in the evening for some food. And in a quaint but a bit odd way, staff leaves after 5:00pm and hotel guests are left to themselves in the buiding after hours...

As mentioned, very simple accomodation and overall limited services. The advertised restaurant was closed in the evening with no other options at all available in the hotel.

The staff were wonderful, so keen to make us feel welcome, and to provide information and explain things to us. We had a lovely room with a spacious bathroom, and a balcony with a view across the town to the castle. It was a hot night and the hotel was very warm but the air conditioning in our room worked well and enabled us to sleep very well. It was a great place for a stop-over, and in the morning we enjoyed a walk around the town - good to 'meet' a place with it's own character and history, and to get away from the motorway.

Disappointed that we seemed to be the only overnight guests. We felt safe but it was a bit eerie.
