Ideal hub for multi-day Ometepe excursion

Lots of animals all around the property. Cool architecture and bungalo-style houses that invite for a longer stay.

Breakfast options are good, but limited.

Nice location, but will not return

The location is great, right on the lake. The bungalows are comfortable. The receptionist and waiters are quite attentive.

The owner is a penny pincher. They charged us full price for a room upgrade even though we were the only guests there. Then, when we asked if we could take two coconuts that had fallen, they charged us 25 cordobas. The issue in both cases wasn't that we were charged; we're not looking for handouts and we paid what we were asked to pay. However, having stayed at many hotels over the years, I've had the good fortune to experience the little things that a hotel will do to delight you as a customer, such as a free room upgrade when rooms are available. A penny-pinching owner is not a deal breaker, but just be aware that the owner of this hotel is not concerned with delighting customers.

We loved staying in touch with nature; the place is amazing and the food delicious.

It was nice to stay in touch with nature and see many animals around the property. The beach is at walk distance and private. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the tour provided by Arlington (recommended driver). The restaurant staff were at all times friendly and professional.

The menu is limited and after a couple days, you'd have tried pretty much everything. Not to mention the prices are excessive for Ometepe and the country in general. It's clearly their business model, but there could be more concessions in this area to make guests happier. One of the female receptionists was unpleasant.
