A wonderful, peaceful stay in a beautiful canal-side house, with plenty of happy memories that I’ll take home with me.
What I liked most was the location and the feeling of being right on the water. The canal house was incredibly peaceful and made a perfect base for exploring Friesland by boat. I loved being able to step outside and be immediately beside the canal, with the water, boats and countryside right there. The house itself had a really lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The peace and quiet, particularly in the mornings, was a real highlight. I also loved being able to swim in the canal and then come back and relax by the water — it made the whole stay feel like a proper escape from everyday life. It was also a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area by boat, with the waterways and little towns and villages nearby. Overall, it felt like a place where you could genuinely slow down, relax and enjoy the setting, rather than just somewhere to stay.
Honestly, there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about the property. Everything suited what I was looking for, and the peaceful location, canal-side setting and overall atmosphere were the biggest highlights of the stay. If I had to find something, I suppose the only difficult part was having to leave! I genuinely enjoyed my time here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
