Very disappointing experience in an executive suite at a major hotel chain.
I paid almost double the regular room price to stay in an "executive suite", an 800 square foot room, the type that might sometimes be used for a corporate reception during a conference. The wood floor was sticky, like someone had spilled sodas or some other types of drinks. I had to get a wet towel and literally mop the floor myself so it could be walked on. The large serving table also had not been cleaned and had several places with visible drink spills and grease marks. The knob was broken off the lamp on one of the nightstands, necessitating moving a living room lamp to the bedroom. The bed was so lumpy due to a wadded up mattress pad that I had to remake the bed before it could be slept in. To top it off, under the glass top of one of the night stands, there was a flyer with a QR code that I was encouraged to scan so it would be easy for me to leave a tip for the hotel staff. I found this highly offensive in light of the lack of maintenance and supervision by management.
