    The positive attitude of the manager. We had our dog with us who was very hot in our allocated room. The manager transferred us to a cooler, better ventilated room which made our stay very comfortable. All staff were helpful and had a pleasant demeanour. The meal area rooms were spacious, airy and had a good view over the hotel gardens. The rooms at the front of the hotel had a beautiful seas view. The very well kept gardens provided the same view out over the English channel.

    The hotel could benefit from air conditioning, and the manager did tell us this was planned for next year. It is a Victorian building with attractive architectural features but in the hotter weather aircon would be a great improvement.t

    In general we were very pleased with our stay

    Breakfast was very good, room good.

    The tv aerial connection was poor, the safe was inoperable, and the shower heat was not adjustable for comfort and was too hot. We had some difficulty in reserving tables for our evening meal in the restaurant although we observed there were a number of tables not usable for dinner because they were laid for breakfast
