  Sadly, displeased with the service and the cleanliness.

  Good points that I can mention are that the AC was fully functional and that the beach was still very accessible and walking down it was very pleasant. The host was more courteous the following morning, however our first impression was hard to ignore. The bathrooms were pretty functional and clean.

  Note: we came during off-season in July. Unfortunately, didn't have an amazingly positive experience at this accomodation. First disappointment was that the host wasn't very welcoming upon first impression. Across all the other places we stayed at in Sri Lanka, the hosts checked in on us before we arrived and upon our arrival, came to greet us and assist us with our baggage. Unfortunately at this hotel when we arrived, the host was not present to welcome us and we had to go in and look for them ourselves. When found, we weren't offered much of an introduction or warm greeting. They didn't seem to put any effort to welcome us at all. We were the only guests there at the time so the lack of effort felt pretty disheartening especially after our positive experiences in other hotels. We stayed in the double room with balcony. Unfortunately, we weren't too pleased with the room quality either. The room had a weird smell upon entry and stuffiness. It was not very clean. Stains could be found on the curtains, bedsheets, and pillows, and paired with the smell, it made the stay pretty uncomfortable. The hotel itself was also quite unkept as it seemed outdated and the outdoor stairs were quite dusty. At breakfast, though the food was not bad, I also noticed hair strands in the salt shaker.
