    Unforgettable

    Our favourite stay of our trip. The warmth, knowledge, hospitality of the hosts went above and beyond our expectations. Fantastic location in a charming part of ancient town. Johnson and Carol have created a very special unique place. Johnson is a very experienced hiking guide and Carol a yoga and meditation instructor. Both have perfect English. The little extras, and kindnesses were cherries on top. Only 3 rooms but delightful. So much care and charisma. Nothing was too much trouble. We will return and highly recommend. We didn’t have children but would be great for family or single parents with kid/s as Johnson takes children hiking while carol does yoga and wellness with parents. Fun young Chinese couple who originally worked in international hospitality (Maldives) but have made lovely life and community in Lijiang. They had great suggestions and contacts - best meal of trip at their suggestion and they organised masseurs to visit from Banyan resort. Johnson packed us a hiking breakfast and arranged transport to Tiger Leaping Gorge . All very smooth and easy. Loved it!

    The owners were very welcoming and nice. the bed was comfortable and it’s in a great quiet part of the city. i had to be up early most days and johnson made me a takeaway breakfast which was great. they also gave great recommendations and made my stay super easy!

    Everything. From the moment we contacted Johnson and Carol before our arrival at Jayden Lodge, we felt we were in safe hands. And this proved to be the case. Such a warm, friendly, caring and attentive family who made us feel part of their surroundings immediately. The welcome was first rate and Johnson was enthusiastic to describe Shuhe, the countryside, the walks and all the hikes that were available to us. Our room was exceptional and we just felt extremely relaxed and at ease with our surroundings. So comfortable and spacious that we drifted into 3 perfect nights of sleep leaving us feeling refreshed each morning. And each morning we had an outstanding breakfast freshly prepared by Johnson and Carol with a little help from their son Jayden. The location is perfect. You can easily explore Shuhe within a few minutes walk but can then retreat back into the quiet relaxation of the lodge. The street leading by the lodge is part of the Tea Horse Road that led to Tibet and part of it is easily walked to provide you a stunning view over Lijiang and Shuhe. This accommodation is exceptional in every detail. The whole stay for us passed far too quickly and we wanted to stay longer had we not already had plans in place. Highly recommended.

    Beautiful family who could speak English. Very comfy beds, tasty breakfasts, quiet and situated in lovely section of Shuhe Ancient City.
