Disappointing on so many levels
The apartment was spacious. I liked the dining table. I was grateful there were oscillating fans.
It was very dirty. There was trash and dirt under the beds and behind the dresser in the hallway. Not tiny pieces of trash, I found a water bottle amongst other paper and trash items. The shower didn’t look like it had been cleaned. There were comforters thrown into the bottom of the wardrobe. Were they clean? I have no idea, thinking of touching them gave me the ick, and we lived out of our suitcases for our entire stay. The fake plants have never been dusted or, at least, that is what it looked like. The photos listed of the apartment are older because the apartment is in need of an update. The wallpaper behind the stove was peeling and a fire hazard, so we didn’t use the stove. The blue wall, in the front room, had a large, weird mystery stain, like someone threw food at the wall. The ceiling in the back room also had brown stains by the ceiling fixture. When we got into the apartment the first thing I had to do was sweep and mop the floor, and all the surfaces seemed dusty so I wiped them too. I ended up spending my first 4 hours there cleaning the apartment. The front room used to be a store front and it faces west. It gets extremely hot in the afternoon in that room. There aren’t any windows to open in there. The windows in the back side of the apartment provided a little bit of relief, and the fans helped, but it was really tough sleeping through the night because there is no air circulating from outside the apartment in the summer. There was no street parking available at all. We ended up having to park our car in a pay garage a 20 minute walk away. A more realistic description of parking would have been nice because we have a disabled daughter, and she can’t walk that far. So, getting in and out of the apartment was a long and tedious process. In conclusion, the apartment when presented online felt like it would be a good fit for our family. But I was wrong.
