Better options nearby, and beware if you don't want to be ripped off!
The location is fine, although Gonsua Betalbatim beach is not as nice as Majorda. From Gonsua, there is a lovely road to Majorda, about 15mn on foot.
After almost twenty years of regularly finding accomodations via Booking, this this my third bad rating. I chose this room over cheaper options on the basis of raving reviews, and soon regretted it. The homestay rents three rooms, and maybe the other two are fine. But I got the unlucky number, and the add indicates no difference whatosever, so you never know what room you'll get. There was no private balcony, contrary to what was advertized. I had to get out of the room and go around, where, upon my arrival, there was nothing but a rusty drying rack, with the washing machine there at the back. The owners eventually put a small table and a chair overlooking a garden full of trash. We agreed for breackfast after I specifically asked if black tea was available, but got a rose flavoured infusion I could not drink, and a greasy cheese sandwich instead of toast and jam. The owner's wife relunctlantly agreed not to charge for breakfast. The kitchenware was dirty. They told me a taxi to Diabollim airport would be 700 rupees, but the next day I was asked 800. The service is provided by a friend of the owners, who eventually gave me a discount. Last but not least, they wanted to charge again the local tax, whereas it was already included in the amount I paid in advance. I lost a lot of time and energy explaining it, and understand from other reviews that it's their usual practice. Meanwhile the owners insisted that everything was perfect and as advertized ! I was there at the end of the season, when there are many better and friendlier options closer to Majorda beach.
