  Humid house, with cochroaches

  Localisation in front of Jose do canto garden The house team tried to help and was nice.

  Very big amount of cochroaches on the ground floor and very humid house. We were recommended to let the AC running at 18 all the time to keep the cockroaches away, After a pesticide treatment after three days in the house and still more cochroaches we decided to cancel the rest of our trip and find another place to stay, healthier and cleaner for babies .

  Would not recommend - cockroaches and poor treatment by the host

  The hosts were super communicative before our stay and check in was easy. The location is good - in a quieter residential area but a short (10-15 min) walk from the town centre.

  We checked in at 1am after a flight delay and were immediately met by a strong smell of pesticide. We soon discovered why: that first night we found five dead cockroaches behind the front door, in the bathroom and in the kitchen. As we arrived so late, we had no choice but to stay, but the apartment was so damp that even the sheets felt wet. One bedroom had frequent scratching noises coming from a vent throughout the night, and there was a rat trap under the bed. We messaged the host but received no response for over 24 hours. During that time, more cockroaches appeared and we had to kill and remove them. When the host finally replied, they apologised and explained that a pest control treatment before our stay had not been effective and that a further treatment could only take place once the property was vacant for 3 days. They also said the scratching noise was likely pest-related but could only be confirmed by specialists. It quickly became clear that we could not stay any longer. More cockroaches kept appearing and we never felt comfortable in the apartment. Instead of enjoying our holiday, we spent time dealing with the infestation, communicating with the host and searching for alternative accommodation. The host eventually said they would process "a refund of your stay", but after a full day of messaging back and forth it became clear they were not offering a refund. Instead, they proposed shortening our reservation so we could leave early. We were still expected to pay in full for the nights already spent in the apartment, despite the condition of the accommodation and the fact that we could not arrange an earlier departure because of their delayed response and unclear communication. We ultimately left after 3 nights and were charged in full. The apartment should not have been rented out in this condition.
