    A characterful place to stay in a lovely, traditional village

    We loved the traditional, historic character of the room - furnished with antiques and with a balcony overlooking the village and valley - which felt very much in keeping with its village setting. The guesthouse has a series of rooms entered from an attractive courtyard. Communication with the host, Rania, was very simple via WhatsApp and she was able to answer our queries very quickly. Rania, shortly before we arrived, also provided us with a video showing the access route to the property which was helpful. There is a small public parking area off the main road. From this it’s a short walk from the Guesthouse up a cobbled/stepped lane. We enjoyed Stemnitsa itself: having fewer facilities than Demitsana, it also felt more local and less focussed on tourists.
