In spite of the issues we did like the house. It needs some tlc and a deep clean to be better.
Good location and plenty of space for all of us.
Mostly small hand towels were provided. We searched and found bigger wet towels in the utility room which we had to dry to use. Some of the pillows on the beds smelt quite badly and we didn’t use those. The main en-suite sink didn’t drain properly. We found dirty trays in the oven and when we opened the fridge small flies came out. We were only booked for a couple of days for a funeral so had other things to think about. I did feed most of this back already to the vendor but had no response.

A lovely base for exploring North Ayrshire
Great space for a couple of families both inside and out. Lots of room, stuff for kids to do, kitchen diner is a fab room for hanging out. Close to Largs if you have a car. Very peaceful too!

Upstairs accommodation satisfactory, but condition of kitchen equipment and appliances unacceptable.
The bedrooms upstairs were generally comfortable, although it was difficult to exclude light from two of them (no blinds and it was June). The property was well situated and convenient for our holiday plans. Our host responded selectively to some of our concerns (but there were major concerns - see below.
Rubbish strewn around the bins and garden on arrival. The kitchen was not fit for use. The fridge wasn't working. The only way we could obtain access to a working fridge was was to enter an area marked 'reserved for staff' in which there was a fridge, heavily clogged up with frozen ice and that froze our soft fruit and salads. Had we not been able to enter the 'staff only' area we couldn't have have kept our food and drink cool. Pans were unuseable - badly scratched non-stick., handles loose and two pans had been left unwashed, possibly as no washing up equipment provided. There were mouse droppings in the undersink cupboard. Loose kickboards, one of which fell on our son's foot. We were here three years previously and the pans were bad and kickboards loose then. Sitting room and dining room rugs are trip hazzards. The garden area was unkempt, dangerous loose steps and several of the garden chairs not fit for purpose. Likewise outdoor table was filthy. No curtains in two bedrooms - just gauze blinds - no good for children or light sleepers. THe phone number provided did not ring, although when we did contact the owner via Booking.com she said it did work, so that is odd. The owner did supply a set of new pans via post but that should not have been necessary had the equipment been fit for use.
