    Great location for walking in the Peak District, rooms comfy, great breakfast, friendly welcome

    This was a room booked for a one night stay as part of a hiking holiday. We turned up with soaking boots - they were taken straight off to the boiler room to dry. It's a local pub with rooms above: a bit quirky, but homely and friendly. Staff were very welcoming, and made recommendations for dining out.

    The perfect base for a challenging walk up to Kinderlow and other peaks to Edale and/or Castleton. We left our luggage here while we spent two days hiking. Perfect location, good value for money, and very accommodating host.
