    Hotel really needs an update

The onsens were very nice. I especially enjoyed the public bath as there was an indoor and outdoor bath however it is separated by male and female. The hotel room was beautiful, traditional and comfortable (the bathroom however was really small and very old).

I think the photos are misleading. The property really needs an update as it seems like the hotel has not been updated in many many years. The carpets are worn in the hallways, showers and taps are old and there is lots of dust and cobwebs everywhere. It is definitely an experience to stay in a traditional rhokan however I think the hotel should be maintained to a higher standard. You have to pay ¥2000 every time to use the private baths on top of the already pricey stay. Overall I was disappointed with the stay and had higher expectations. If you are looking for a luxurious rhokan experience then I don't think this hotel is for you.
