    It's a good location if you're exploring around Lake Biwa or want to go out to Chikubu Island. It has a somewhat faded charm. The staff are efficient, and the reception area is nice. It advertises a view from every room, but unfortunately, I was on the lowest floor and could see but not fully appreciate it. I imagine it would be beautiful from a higher floor!

    Not enough pillows. It also felt a little grubby around the edges, particularly the corners and edges of the wallpaper. I wasn't keen on the bedding arrangement: a sheet underneath a futon, rather than a cover enclosing it. Difficult to know how often, if ever, the top cover is washed. I wished I'd brought my own cover! The hotel restaurants are a little expensive, and there isn't enough variety, especially considering it's no longer a top-end hotel. It's fine overall and the price is good, but a few things could be better.
