A horrible dive center experience
- This is a small resort and with local people working in the kitchen and meal service, all of which we found wonderful - atmosphere of a bare-foot only place, the care for being eco-friendly and especially the beach in front of the resort are excellent
The Dive Center, based on the following factual account (without interpretation): The three of us (including a 12-year-old) ended up doing only 3-4 dives in the end; of 11 dives total, only 2 tanks had 200 bar or more. The nine others (plus at least another 5-10 that we tried to find one properly filled) were all between 160-180bar. This was never fixed over the period of the three days we went diving. On the first day, the German dive instructor (and guest relations) Tobi reacted to us asking for a tank with 200 bar by holding a gauge in my face that was only a little above 190bar and asked (in an unfriendly manner): 'Is this enough?'. Then, of the 11 dives total, 4 had to be aborted because in three cases the tanks were leaking AT THE VALVE. The fourth tank release bubble on the tank itself, at the welding between the cylinder and the round top part. Let me repeat: the tank itself was broken and released air. Small bubbles leaking at the connector between tank and regulator we accepted, but the valve/turning handle and welding of the tank are not acceptable. When I saw the air coming out of leaking welding of the tank of my 12-year-old son, the guide (Delta) had simply swam away. Despite 5-10 active attempt to find somebody to discuss, this person was never available and clearly never informed, we still do not know who 'manages' this dive center. I can only hope that this review safes somebody in the future, because this dive team is risking lives. - The resort itself is tired. We had one of two big 'beach villas', which are much darker and older than the advertised pictures, but okay. Two old, very tired and comfortable choirs in front, and broken lounge chairs. The main house second floor has a front porch with plastic green grass and chairs so uncomfortable that we never saw a single person sitting there in 5 days. The old chairs at the bar at equally worn. This resort is missing some loving care.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kuda Laut Boutique Dive Resort and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, warm and always helpful. The bungalows are beautiful, very spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to relax and feel at home. The food was excellent every single day and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We also had a fantastic massage, which we can highly recommend! A very special highlight was our Open Water diving course with Jimbris. He is a fantastic dive instructor – very professional, patient and at the same time incredibly funny. We always felt safe and comfortable with him and had so much fun learning and diving. Overall, we had an amazing time at Kuda Laut and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended! 😊

Simply not our vibe.
