The unfriendliest and most uncomfortable stay we’ve had in years and not worth our money for us
1. The facility was spacious enough to move the wheel chair around. We were able to wheel my husband around on a wheel chair 2. The main bedroom had a back up solar which kicked off when load shedding hit and the rest of the house was in darkness. We initially got our phone torches switched on till the owner callled and offered candles and lantern lights
1. We tried using the washing machine in the day of arrival at night and got a call from the owner that overnight stay is not allowed to use the machine. This was not indicated in the conditions of stay. 2. Furniture and some parts of the house required and maintenance e.g. bathroom tapping broke when we opened the bath for the first time. The owner immediately blamed us that we were washing clothes that’s why the tap broke. Meanwhile it was a soft touch of open and close once on a tap that clearly was about to break. Similarly the coffee table was wiggling so we avoided using the lounge in case the ready to break coffee table gave given the owners baleful attitude. 3. The lounge TV was so small you could barely even hear the sound and enjoy viewing it. We just eventually gave up and used our own laptop given the screen sizes were in the same range. 4. We did not have much privacy which we thought we would get as a rental home and something we’ve gotten from other rental homes we booked. The owners were in our faces or just lurking around where you clearly felt that were inspecting how we are treating the property and we got the sense of discomfort that the owners were irritated by our presence. After my kids had swam, literally at night, the owner went to clean the pool. When they fixing the tap, the wife was peeping through the main bedroom doors which were open with the irritable look. For the first time in our travel history, we really felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. 5. Check out time was at 11am and by 7am we were up preparing to leave. By 10am the family who had somewhere to be had the agitation of being delayed by us. We had offered to leave the key in the hiding pot where we found it but for whatever reasons I did not understand I guess they were in wait mode and needed us out even before the check out time.
