  Disappointing Stay and Lack of Transparency 宿泊形態の説明不足と残念な滞在

  I also have some complaints about my stay at Kiunso in Yunotsu Onsen. I stayed for one night without meals. Over the past few days, I had been staying at hot spring ryokans with dinner and breakfast included, so I decided not to book meals this time. Little did I know that this would lead to an unexpected problem. It turned out that guests who do not book meals are accommodated in a separate building, a few minutes’ walk away from the main ryokan. To use the public hot spring baths, I had to walk back to the main building, where I had checked in, wearing my yukata. As I understand it, guests who book meals get to stay in the main building, which is obviously much more convenient. The problem is that I was not aware that I would be staying in a separate building when I made my reservation. At check-in, the staff simply instructed me to follow the map to find my accommodation. They did not even bother to show me the way in person. I felt as though I was paying ryokan prices for the quality of a guesthouse. This experience certainly opened my eyes to how hot spring accommodation in Yunotsu is run. 温泉津の輝雲荘についても、今回の宿泊には不満がありました。 今回は素泊まりで一泊しました。それまでの数日間は、夕食と朝食付きの温泉旅館に宿泊していたため、今回は食事なしで予約しました。ところが、まさかこんな問題があるとは思いませんでした。 食事なしの場合、宿泊する部屋は本館ではなく、歩いて数分かかる別の建物になるとのことでした。温泉に入るためには、浴衣を着て、チェックインした本館の大浴場まで戻らなければなりません。一方、食事付きの宿泊客は本館に泊まれるようで、そのほうがはるかに便利です。 問題なのは、予約時に別の建物に宿泊することを知らされていなかったことです。チェックインの際も、スタッフは地図を渡して、その案内に従って宿泊先へ行くように説明しただけでした。わざわざ宿泊先まで案内してくれることさえありませんでした。 旅館の料金を払っているのに、まるで民宿のような質の宿泊体験だと感じました。温泉津の旅館がこのような形で営業しているとは、まさに驚きでした。ある意味、今回の経験で大いに勉強になりました。

  とにかく静かに過ごせました。町家なので外食になりますが食べる処も増えてますね〜。もちろん作りたい方には設備は充分です。

  Very large room with a fully equipped kitchen, could be very comfortable for a family coming on vacation in the area. Quiet village that is pleasant to walk around, kind staff that helps you to get to know the area.

  The onsen is beautiful but requires a few minutes walk because some of the rooms are not near it
