Best place to stay in Kyoto.
I loves the location and that they left snacks for guests. It was super walkable to many great restaurants too.

Everything was great! Such a warm welcome and understanding from the owner and staff. Totally recommend!
Extremely helpful and nice staff. The owner and the staff explained the whole house in detail and it’s super clean and nicely located. I loved the traditional style of the house and even though in winter it can get cold easily, the whole house has AC with heating function which heats up the individual rooms easily. Over all I loved staying there and I can totally recommend this place for 2 people and even more. Since it is a whole house it is super convenient for all types of groups.
No private parking available, but a lot of public paid parking places nearby.

Everything. Location, amenities in the property and the owner. Mr Tanaka and his family went above and beyond with their kindness to provide us with a wonderful accommodation experience in Kyoto.

This guest house is in a great location away from the crowds in Kyoto. The owner is very welcoming and cares greatly for his guests The house was comfortable for a family of 5 and gave us a taste of Japanese culture in Kyoto. My son loved the outdoor onsen style bath. The beds are comfortable and the futons in the tatami room were also comfortable for my family. My wife also wants to pass along that the home is plus-size friendly. The owner gives great advice for nearby places to eat and visit. The cleaning service is fast and efficient. Having a washing machine is a plus, though you have to dry your clothes outside on the hanging rack. The nearby Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is unique with lighted lanterns in the evening and not as busy as all the other shrines in Kyoto. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Japan. I would definitely stay again.
There was not anything that I didn't like about our experience.
