Tranquilo y con vistas al Etna, pero necesita renovación
Es un inmueble con mucho potencial. Para quienes buscan tranquilidad y una bonita vista al Etna, es un lugar adecuado. Maurizio es súper agradable y desde el primer momento nos dio una cordial bienvenida.
Las instalaciones tienen mucho margen de mejora. Las sillas se sienten inestables, como si pudieran romperse en cualquier momento, y los utensilios de cocina ya han visto mejores días. Recomendaría invertir en renovarlos. Lo mismo ocurre con el interior: la decoración está bastante desgastada y las paredes necesitarían una mano de pintura nueva. Con una buena renovación, el lugar quedaría magnífico. Por último, la cobertura móvil es muy escasa en la zona y la casa no cuenta con WiFi propio. Maurizio nos facilitó amablemente la clave de su módem, pero la señal no llega hasta la vivienda. Es algo que se podría solucionar fácilmente con un amplificador de señal.

We choose this house as a strategic departure for Mount Etna trekking, which you can see it from the backyard. 30minutes drive to Rifugio Sapienza. It is small and cosy house, good vibe with old but good taste. It is the perfect spot for silence, peace and nature lovers. The kitchen is okay to prepare some easy dishes and you can do barbecue outside in the garden as well. There`s no internet, and we were happy with that. The electricity in the house is not stable when the weather is stormy. Solutions are on the way, told by the owner. You must keep an eye on the fridge and circuit breaker. Don`t wash and shower at the same time :) Mount Etna is beautiful but is packed with day-trippers, is a real cash cow for Sicilian tourism. We hiked it with our kids(10 and 8) from R. Sapienza to Crateri Barbagallo, we really enjoyed to be alone.
It was obvious that the house is rarely frequented, and it was okay for our purposes, but it definetly needs a proper deep cleaning and a refreshing lime-wash for the mould.
