The location is fantastic. The apartment is just a 7-minute walk from the railway station, on one of the main streets in the lower town. There is plenty of infrastructure nearby, including pizzerias, traditional restaurants, supermarkets just around the corner, and numerous cafés and pastry shops. Despite being so central, the windows face the other side of the building, which is generally peaceful. The neighbourhood felt lively and safe, although we didn't walk around late at night. Communication with the host was very good. We received the access code and self-check-in instructions the day before arrival, and everything went smoothly. The host was responsive, and communication via WhatsApp and email worked well. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a stay of a few days. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. The kitchen seemed to be equipped with the essentials, including cookware and basic ingredients such as oil, salt and sugar, although we didn't actually cook during our stay. Overall, the apartment met our expectations and is a decent option in its category. We would recommend it to anyone looking for practical, centrally located accommodation in Bergamo.
The apartment looks more like a property specifically renovated and furnished for short-term tourist rentals than a cosy home. This isn't necessarily a problem, but there are a few details that could be improved. Some maintenance is needed: the bathroom tap had a very weak flow of water, and the kitchen tap was loose. The dishwashing sponge also definitely needed replacing, as it didn't look inviting to use. There was only one wine glass in the apartment, which was inconvenient. The balcony overlooks a car park and isn't furnished in a way that makes you want to sit outside and relax. The biggest downside for us was the noise at night. Every night, at around 4 a.m., someone started moving trolleys around, and the noise was loud enough to wake us up. We slept with the windows open, which may have made it more noticeable, but light sleepers should definitely consider bringing earplugs.
