Disappointing overall — the apartment looked much better in the photos than it did in reality.
The apartment is located in a residential neighborhood within walking distance of central Sorrento. There are restaurants and a large supermarket nearby, which was convenient. The host was responsive and arranged for someone to address the issues we reported shortly after check-in.
Unfortunately, the apartment was quite disappointing and did not live up to our expectations based on the listing photos. Compared with other accommodations we stayed at during the same trip, the overall cleanliness, comfort, and maintenance were noticeably below standard. Upon arrival, there was an unpleasant smell similar to cigarette smoke, despite the property being listed as non-smoking. The washing machine had black buildup around the rubber seal, and the refrigerator was not properly cleaned. Several fixtures and furnishings were in poor condition. The bathroom door handle was loose, the bathroom hook was coming off, and a kitchen cabinet front was also loose. The shower door appeared to have been installed incorrectly and required some maneuvering just to get it to stay closed. The sofa bed was sagging and uncomfortable to sleep on, and the sofa upholstery was torn. The host responded quickly and arranged for someone to address our concerns. The bedsheets were changed, the appliances were wiped down, the bathroom door was repaired, and additional toilet paper and coffee pods were provided. We appreciated her responsiveness, but the appliances still did not appear properly clean, and the repaired door handle still felt unstable. The work was carried out while we were away, which made us a little uncomfortable as our personal belongings were left out. Overall, while the host was responsive, the apartment needs significant improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and furnishings. The actual condition was quite different from what we expected based on the photos.
