Location, space
A very pleasant resort with well-appointed, clean and warm accommodation, quality fixtures and good facilities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, although a few details fell short of what we would expect at this price point. Parking isn’t necessarily close to the accommodation units, particularly if you arrive later in the day, as spaces near the units appear to be taken up early by contractors and tradespeople. While the units themselves are finished to a high standard, some of the smaller touches seem to have been overlooked. For example, a coffee plunger is provided but no coffee to use with it. Bathroom amenities are also limited to basic liquid soap and shampoo. Bring your own dressing gown as there aren’t any here. These aren’t major issues, but at a premium nightly rate, it’s reasonable to expect a little more attention to detail. One thing worth being aware of is that room access cards deactivate precisely at checkout time, rather than allowing any grace period. This didn’t cause us a problem, but could catch other guests out. Finally, checkout felt rather impersonal, with no enquiry about whether we had enjoyed our stay. Overall, it’s a lovely property with plenty going for it. With a little more attention to the smaller details and the guest experience, it could easily live up to the premium positioning and pricing.
