    We had a family reunion to celebrate life. The house leant itself perfectly to our celebration. It was exactly what we h

    Excellent feel. Spacious. Comfortable. House was equipped with everything we could have asked for. Walking distance to everything that Franschhoek has to offer.

    We had power/electricity issues on both evenings. This resulted in cold showers for some of us on both days. Sunday we woke up to no water in the house. Water self restored just as the manager arrived to sort it out. WiFi router blew up on Friday evening and was not addressed while we were there.

    An exceptional house in the heart of Franschhoek

    Le Bas de Laine is an absolutely beautiful property and the perfect place to stay in Franschhoek. The house is spacious, stylish, and immaculately maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered to make guests feel comfortable and at home. The location is peaceful and private, yet within easy walking distance of the village, shops, and fantastic restaurants. The outdoor areas are especially lovely, ideal for relaxing and spending time together, and the interiors are equally impressive with generous, comfortable bedrooms and elegant living spaces. Everything about our stay was seamless, from arrival to departure. Le Bas de Laine truly offers a luxurious yet welcoming experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Franschhoek.

    There was some building work being done on a house close by, but it was not too noisy and did not inconvenience us. Really nothing else to complain about, and Peter (House Manager) or John (House Keeper) were available to quickly sort out any issues if they did occur.

    We can’t wait to come back and enjoy this property again — a true 5★ stay and one we would happily recommend to anyone.

    We absolutely loved the villa and honestly couldn’t pick any fault with it. It was spotless, beautifully maintained, and really exceeded our expectations in every way.

    There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The only very minor issue was that the downstairs twin room didn’t have a strong WiFi connection, but it wasn’t the end of the world.
