Disappointing stay, significant defects, poor cleanliness, and misleading information about thePool
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the “Leonardos” accommodation in Fuerteventura. Our stay was marked by significant problems and disappointments. Upon arrival, we were informed that, due to problems, we would not be able to move into the apartment as booked. As a result, we had to spend the first night in different accommodation. We were finally able to move in the following day, without the host personally showing us the apartment. The apartment was very run-down and noticeably dirty. Several kitchen cupboards were damaged, a lamp was partially detached from the wall, and the glass table in the living room had a damaged area that developed into a crack during our stay. With our two young children, this table posed a significant safety risk. In addition, there were several trails of ants throughout the apartment, particularly in the kitchen. Before our arrival, we explicitly asked the host whether all three swimming pools were open. He confirmed that they were, and this was an important factor in our booking decision, especially because of the children's pool. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the children's pool was defective and unusable. The other pools were also very dirty. Large areas of the complex were cordoned off, and the outdoor areas were poorly maintained and partly damaged. There were also numerous cockroaches around the pools. According to residents, the restricted areas had already been closed for several months. The information provided by the host before our arrival therefore did not reflect the actual situation. What was particularly disappointing was what we consider to be misleading information about the pool facilities and the condition of the apartment. After we returned home, the host demanded €250 from us, claiming that we had allegedly caused several damages. This is absolutely outrageous! We have been travelling with Booking.com for many years, but thankfully, we have never experienced anything like this before.
