The location is really central, but the taxi driver had a hard time finding it. There´s something special about staying in a 400-year-old building, and this one luckily has an elevator. We arrived very late at night, but a nice lady was waiting for us at the door and showed us around explaining how everything worked! Next morning she gave us breakfast, and then we met the owner, a lovely lady who showed us around the historic part of Civitavecchia until it was time to board our cruise ship.
Being a protected historic building every repair or redecoration need official planning permission, which is delaying the repairs to the entrance of the building. Hopefully the scaffolding outside will be removed shortly, but in the meantime I think guests are understanding and it doesn´t affect one in any way.

We stayed for 3 nights before connecting with a cruise. Ideal location, close to many restaurants, the market and the sea front. The accommodation was perfect, very spacious en-suite room, immaculately clean, safe and secure. Our hostess, Gisella, was fabulous, very welcoming, organised taxis, port transfers, made suggestions for local restaurants. Lovely communal space in which to enjoy the continental breakfasts. We are very happy to recommend this lovely accommodation!
At present there is some building work going on, scaffolding on the facade of the building but this was not at all an issue or intrusive in any way! Don’t be put off.
