We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ligaria Mare. It’s a beautiful, secluded and peaceful place, perfect for relaxing and enjoying Crete away from the crowds. The kids absolutely loved the pool, and we loved the terrace. Even on the hottest days, the breeze made it surprisingly comfortable to sit outside. Breakfasts and dinners on the terrace with the lovely view were definitely among our favourite parts of the stay. The villa itself is very spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were very, very comfortable. The kids also appreciated the huge TV for an evening movie after a day at the beach or by the pool. There is a beach within walking distance, which was very convenient. For exploring the area and getting to most other places, though, having a car is definitely recommended. There is also a lovely supermarket about a 25-minute drive away that became our favourite - we especially appreciated the quality and selection of the products there. The host was exceptional, welcoming, responsive and really attentive to making sure we had everything we needed. A beautiful, peaceful place where we could truly relax as a family. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!
One thing worth mentioning is that parking can be a little challenging. We were lucky to have a small car, which definitely made things easier. The host also offered us an alternative parking spot in a different area, so in the end it worked perfectly well for us.
