  Okay for short stay

  Ambient in the apartment is nice, and it is good that the market is in front of the building.

  First of all I was not able to sleep because the elevator was so noisy. The way it sounded definitely is not normal, and it’s a sign that something is either worn out or some bolts have loosened. The noise was so strong that it feels as if the lift equipment were inside this room, not next to it. The owner told me that the lift is fine and it’s functioning like that. Which was so strange for me. So, be careful if you have sensitive sleeping. Second is a pressure of water when you use shower. It is because of tankless water heater. Location is also not so good if you are alone as a girl. The beds are old and not comfortable. Especially in the living room, was hard to sit longer time there.

  Exceeded my expectations

  The attention to detail inside of the apartment gives it a homey feel, very well thought out, you can tell that the host really put care into putting it together. Another thing that I really liked was that there were some supplies like laundry detergent.

  No fire alams, smoke detectors or fire evacuation plan from 6th floor apartment.

  The apartment itself is good. Clean, tidy with everything you need. Even some cute home made items you can buy.

  No smoke detectors, no fire alarms, no adequate fire escape or evacuation plan from the 6th floor. The lift goes to floor 5 then there is a spiral staircase to the loft space apartment, effectively on floor 6. I didn't realise that the lift sropped at floor 5. There is no alternative fire escape from floor 6. There is a stairwell from ground floor to floor 5 that is marked as a fire escape, however there are no smoke detectors or fire alarms in the stairwell any every fire door on every dloor was permanently held open with a door stop. It seems all apartments are privately owned or long tern rental with people living in them. When i asked owner about the fire evacuation procedure and the location of any alarms, I was told that there is no cooking hob or gas cylinder in The Lighthouse and why am I scared. Im fairly certain all of the other apartments have cooking facilities and fire hazards since they are residential. And what if there is a fire in the rickety old lift shaft? I was booked to stay here 2 weeks, I had to leave immediately as I was so worried and wouldnt have slept. The messages from the owner were at times very abrupt and rude. Booking.com customer services were amazing and agreed the accommodation and the responses were not acceptable. Fortunately I was able to find amazing accommodation in Larnaca town centre for the same price.
