Beautifully renovated, centrally located, clean, quiet, and suitable for remote workers

This will be a very detailed review as I stayed for several weeks and want to share all the things I wondered about before choosing this place! It’s a beautiful property, no doubt - well managed and refurbished, well cared for. I would highly recommend it for shorter term stays. The property is very stylish, calm, and centrally located, is on a (relatively) quiet street with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops nearby. The building itself is beautifully restored and kept extremely clean, and is very well appointed and cared for. It has strong WiFi signal (mostly good enough for me to be working remotely on Zoom calls during the day, as well as to stream Netflix at night) and has very good sound proofing on the exterior windows, solid hot water, and beautiful modern decor. The kitchen was fairly well equipped (including with basics like oil, salt, etc) and the air conditioning was excellent; it was very easy to keep cool even on hot days. I rarely encountered other residents and overall things felt very quiet and peaceful. The property managers were very kind when I saw them and the cleaning services were thorough. In truth, I’ve stayed all over the world and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed somewhere more carefully remodeled and well cleaned and in such an ideal location. The ceilings and walls are gorgeous. It’s clear that this is a loving family operation. Overall, I would highly recommend it and did not encounter a better value for the money in my time in the city!

Although my stay was overall very positive, I stayed for 3 weeks, and have a few notes of things to be aware of: as stated, although the unit is serviced, you will need to take out your own trash to receptacles down the street and sort your own recycling (this was new to me in my experience of serviced aparthotels). The cleaning services were hard to predict: I was once told a wrong date for the cleaning, then another time when I had it scheduled for a morning time they did not show up until 3 hours later when I was in a meeting. The cleaning services can also be somewhat loud. There were periodically small children taking over common spaces like the exercise equipment, patio, and laundry areas or running around the stairs while the cleaning was occurring. The dryers did not work while I was there and I wasted a lot of money before just hanging clothes to dry, and they were eventually marked as broken. At times, the Internet signal would randomly drop altogether, especially in the late afternoon, so I can’t 1000% endorse it for remote workers who need Zoom during the day. You basically must either have the window shades entirely opened (making you visible to the hotel across the street) or closed (full darkness), so some sheer white curtains to let in light while maintaining privacy would be nice. The beds and pillows are extremely firm (the firm bed is normal for Portugal but I’ve never encountered such hard brick-like pillows anywhere). You’ll get 1 toilet paper roll and about 4 coffee pods per week which seemed a little unnecessarily stingy. All in all, though, I would still recommend staying here with these things in mind, as most of these items mostly matter for a long term stay.

Would highly recommend this property, would easily stay again.

Lovely decor, excellent location, friendly staff.

A bit of noise from building works, but with windows closed no problem.
