We had a great stay. Staff were wonderful and helpful. The place has a lovely feel and it’s nice and relaxing.

The setting is nice and quiet. The bar area is a great way to enjoy a leisurely drink. And the location to town is excellent.

The bathroom was a bit small but not a major issue.

    1. The cooked breakfast was a highlight for us, and the female staff member who greeted and served us was friendly and professional. 2. Although the weather was cold, the Keepers Cottage was surprisingly warm. 3. The mini fridge was of excellent quality, with space for tall bottles/wine bottles. 4. Comfortable selection of pillows.

    1. At check-in, the man at the reception desk directed all questions and conversation to my husband, although it was clear that the booking was in my name (female). A small issue perhaps, but it felt rude from the female perspective. 2. The Keepers Cottage bathroom at first glance looks pretty but sadly is not functional. It looks great in the advertising photos but in fact the tiles are covered in smeared grout that was not cleaned correctly when being installed. Due to the location at the rear of the property, the hot water takes a long time to reach the cottage. Note, once it does arrive, it is very hot with good pressure which is a plus. The shower curtain and small drain do not stop the water in the shower from leaking out across the floor so once the shower is used you get wet feet whenever you need to use the sink or toilet. The sink looks cute, but is too small for such an oversized tap. You cannot easily brush your teeth or wash your face without hitting your head on the tap or getting water all over the sink top and floor. The fan does not work and the bathroom windows are covered in spiderwebs from the outside so don't look nice. It's a shame because it has such potential to be a lovely bathroom. Needs a bit more attention to detail and perhaps a shower screen of some sort. 3. The parking area needs better gravel or road base to prevent it from becoming muddy in the rain. Our shoes were all covered in mud as there was no way to avoid it and get in the car. The car mats are now covered in mud too. 4. The bed was very soft which for some might be perfect. For us, it was not supportive enough and resulted in sore backs. 5. The laundry trollies are stored behind the Keepers Cottage so you do hear them being rolled away at the end of the day. The last one was at about 8.30 pm so it did not disturb our sleep but is not very romantic to hear.
