  Not up to standard

  The property was close to flamingo land and a few pubs

  When we arrived at the lodge, we discovered it had not been cleaned from the previous guests, even after giving them a time of arrival which they requested, We then tried calling the contact number multiple times which just sent us to a company who couldn’t get hold of the people in charge of the lodge, we then had to go find a maintenance man who luckily was able to get in contact with the owner, We had our one year old son with us who couldn’t go to bed for over an hour past his bed time as they had to come clean it, which wasn’t a great start to our break, After our trip I sent a complaint to the company but was only offered an extra 10% discount for a return trip above what they already offer everyone anyway

  Very disappointing

  Location was convenient but I would’ve chosen elsewhere had I known the facilities didn’t work and it was unclean.

  The owners insist on either a £250 deposit or £40 payment waiver for accidental damage cover prior to arrival. The lodge looks nice but we were disappointed by the amount of broken advertised amenities. Only 2 jets worked in the hot tub (there was debris in the bottom so we never used it); the dishwasher doesn’t work; the fridge door shelf was broken and left in a cupboard; the oven function buttons worn off the gas oven; blinds and window latches broken. In addition, guests are asked to ensure bedding is stripped & all dishes clean. No problem with this request, but when we went to use the mugs and dishes on arrival they were dirty. This is when I realised the standards are only as good as the previous guests. There was food on the patio and remnants on the kitchen floors and patio furniture damaged. One half used toilet roll for 3 people (2 nights). I expected at least 1 roll in each of the bathrooms. The location is lovely. No problems with check in. I emailed my concerns after arrival but have not had a response. I have received automatic emails from the owners asking if after arrival I’m enjoying my stay (they clearly hadn’t read my email); details for departure; cleaning instructions and following our departure a ‘thanks for choosing them’ & request to complete this online review. I totally expect wear & tear and appreciate previous guests may not have taken care as they should. But I expect highest standards of hygiene and advertised facilities to work. I do wonder how much of this existing damage we would have been blamed for had I not taken date and time stamped photos. At a glance this lodge looks lovely and offers excellent amenities. But maintenance, safety checks and basic care is seriously lacking. As for customer service….still waiting.

  Tranquil surroundings and lovely hot tub.

  Attention to detail missed - lots of dead flies at the main window, fridge was dirty, dishwasher wasn't great. Outside needs some maintenance and general upkeep - lots of debris and spiderwebs - can't help but notice them when sitting relaxing in hot tub. Only two cushions on the four outside chairs and lots of bird poop on frame of table underneath. Decking fencing also a bit slack.

  Come away for a lovely, peaceful couple of nights away. That is exactly what we got, would definitely recommend.

  Very spacious in every room. Beds and couch very comfortable. Hot tub already for us to go into when we got there.
