    Our stay was relaxing. But as all monasteries were closed, we took the boat back to town for a day.

    The property was beautiful and well maintained. Having access to old 45 rpm greek records to play on the "gramophone" was a lot of fun. The host provided bottled water and breakfast elements in the fridge, as there was no store on the island.

    Unfortunately, only one (out of many) of the monasteries was open for a visit - the Monastery of Philanthropenoi. The church was extraordinary. But it was not opened for us immediately. We had to wait until a group came - by chance - and then we were given access with them. This is a problem that the hosts are attempting to resolve.
