Large, comfy room with lovely hosts.
This place is a house divided into 3 en-suite rooms, with a shared large kitchen / diner / lounge. We had the loft rooms, which was spacious, comfy and clean. We met Sean, the owner, who was very friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed. The location is a 15 walk into the centre, where there are pubs, shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend

Update after the host’s response: Just to clarify, I never said that I needed or expected air conditioning. In fact, opening the windows was perfectly enough to cool the room. I mentioned the A/C for one simple reason: it was listed as an amenity in the property description, but the room did not have it. The host’s response actually confirms this. If A/C is not available, it simply should not be advertised. I also find the comments about “this being Ireland” and about what I may be used to “in Summer in Spain” rather patronising and completely beside the point. My nationality has nothing to do with whether an advertised amenity exists or not. Regarding the mattress and duvet, I fully understand that comfort is subjective. I simply described our experience: both my wife and I slept very poorly, the mattress felt badly sagged to us, and the duvet was far too warm for a room that was around 20°C. The fact that other guests may have found them comfortable does not invalidate our experience. My original review also clearly acknowledged the positives: the host was friendly, the property was clean and the house itself was very nice. Unfortunately, for us, the two most basic things we expect from an overnight stay, being able to sleep well and shower comfortably, were precisely where the accommodation failed. Finally, I find the sarcastic opening of the response (“I particularly enjoyed the dramatic tone”) unnecessary. I wrote the review to describe our experience and to give future guests useful information, not to create drama.
