Double-Booked and Stranded Upon Arrival => Unreliable Calendar Management

    -

I made a same-day reservation some hours before my planned arrival. The platform allowed the booking, processed my full payment, and issued an automatic confirmation. However, the host failed to maintain an accurate calendar. Instead of blocking off their occupied dates, they allowed the instant booking to go through, only to send an in-app message—written entirely in Serbian—stating the apartment was already booked by someone else. Because I was in transit internationally without mobile data, and the host made no attempt to call or send an SMS regarding their double-booking error, I only discovered the cancellation upon arriving at the property. Booking.com provided a refund, but travelers should be aware of this host's unreliable calendar management and lack of direct communication.
