A Disaster
The location was convenient and within walking distance to a lot of bars tho this did make the property somewhat loud at night. The room is also on the 4th floor with no lift.
The property was incredibly cold. The heaters all did not work. Even though we contacted the host and requested help with this issue, it took them until the next day to respond. Their response was the turn the knobs on the heaters in each room. We did this and still had no heating through the entire apartment. The smoke detector also went off every 30 seconds. We determined this was likely a low battery issue and would have fixed it ourselves but the devices was on the ceiling very far out of reach. We contacted the property through messaging and received no response for over an hour. We then tried to call and received a response that they would not help us until the following morning. This alongside the heating issue made of night very uncomfortable and restless. The following day, while we were out, they supposedly sent a technician to solve our issues. Unfortunately when we returned that night, it was not resolved. The heating still did not work. And the smoke detector continued to beep continuously. Furthermore, the shower in the bathroom leaked water all over the floor, the beds were lumpy, and the laundry room smelled rotten. The only positives of this stay is the size of the apartment. It is gigantic. And the location.

The 49 Steps
Mostly the place was in a good state and very comfortable, although some TLC required in parts. Big beds and spacious rooms. Had some issues with entry and parking but the host was awesome and replied very quickly to every query, including calling us. The location is amazing for all things downtown. In particular if you fancy doing the hop on hop off bus tour it is right on your doorstep.
There are 49 very steep steps to get to the apartment. For some this may not be a problem (although not a lot of fun with luggage) but as I was traveling with two people in their late 80s this was quite an issue for us and we would not have booked it if we had known. They very valiantly (and very slowly) made it up and down but this certainly put limitations on going in and out. Wanted everyone to be aware in case this impacts you. The accommodation could do with some TLC in parts.
