Brought to tears by its opulence!

This wonderful, opulent apartment brought us to tears it was so spectacular! Everything about it was pure luxurious indulgence! Royal William Yard is an architecturally amazing place. Its buildings were once owned by the Royal Navy & are built with the strength of a fortress. The entrance hall has iron pillars & original granite walls & this continues into the apartments, preserving its original character. We had a beautiful, baby grand piano in the corner of the lounge & I have never wished I could play as much as then. The view from the lounge & main bedroom windows was spectacular, looking across the Marina to Devonport, (Home of my Ancestors!) it brought us to tears! We heard the ferries & boats chugging by & the cry of the gulls, but it was so quiet! Our beds were indulgence itself & the corner reading nook with over head lamp was a lovely touch. There were so many books, absolute Heaven to an avid reader like me! The wooden ceilings & beams were beautiful. We had two bathrooms, one on each floor, with a lovely shower downstairs & a huge bath just off the main bedroom. In my daughter's room, there was a view of Plymouth Sound & out to Sea. The kitchen was well stocked with everything a cook could need. We had a washing machine hidden behind clever panelling. The experience was one of blissful luxury. We bought bagels for breakfast from the little cafe just outside Royal William Yard. They were to die for! A bus stop is adjacent for trips to the city Centre. We caught the ferry from the dockside nearby to the Barbican which was really lovely. A beautiful, breath taking place that we would 100% return to!

The dishwasher was smelly & the plates had some sticky fingerprints on, but it didn't ruin the overall wonderful experience.

    Great time in Plymouth

I travelled to Plymouth to co-write a screenplay with a friend, as well as socialise, and it was an amazing week. Well worth the 7-hour train journey. Great places and people. The accommodation was perfect and the location. Highly recommended.
