    When we arrived at the property, we were unable to enter through the front door because we had not received the required access code. I contacted the owner through the Booking.com app requesting the code, but received no response for approximately 20 minutes. Because we could not gain access through the front entrance, I went around to the back of the property. I discovered that the back door glass was shattered and the back door was unlocked. This was extremely concerning from both a security and safety standpoint. At that point, because we had no access to the property and the condition of the back door was concerning, I contacted the local police for guidance. Approximately 45 minutes after my initial contact with the owner, he finally responded. While I was on the phone with the police, the owner explained that a contractor had apparently been attempting to repair the back door but had not completed the work. We were never informed before our arrival that the property had a damaged back door or that repair work was incomplete. Had we been told in advance, we could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed with the stay. The property was prominently advertised as a “Luxury Scottsdale Retreat Heated Pool.” The listing also described a hot tub. However, neither the pool nor the hot tub was heated during our stay. The shower in the master bedroom bathroom would not turn on.
