Way overpriced for what it is
Location
Five-star pricing, budget-level hospitality. Quite an achievement, really. €8,000 for three nights during the Goodwood Revival. At that price, one might reasonably expect exceptional hospitality, impeccable attention to detail and a certain degree of luxury. One would, unfortunately, be mistaken. The welcome amenities were almost comically underwhelming. For five guests, we were treated to the extraordinary generosity of one bottle of sparkling water, one bottle of still water and a packet of crisps. A welcome package worth, at a generous estimate, £10. Naturally, nothing was replenished over the three-night stay. Perhaps the remaining €7,990 went towards the privilege of attending Goodwood Revival weekend. The swimming pool offered its own little surprise. The temperature display confidently announced 28°C. My Garmin, however, measured approximately 21°C. A seven-degree discrepancy — rather impressive, although not quite the kind of attention to detail one hopes for at this price point. As for guest assistance, the less said, the better. Neither particularly helpful nor proactive. One would expect a rather more polished and attentive approach from an establishment charging such extraordinary rates. The overall experience? There is nothing inherently wrong with premium pricing during a major event. Supply and demand are perfectly understandable. What is rather less understandable is charging luxury-hotel prices whilst delivering a level of hospitality that would struggle to impress at a modest bed and breakfast. An exceptionally expensive lesson in the difference between premium pricing and premium service. The former was certainly delivered. The latter, regrettably, appears to have been optional.

Stunning views in a beautiful home by the sea!
There wasn’t a single thing not to like about this property - beautifully decorated and everything you could need. The sauna and swimming pool are a great touch and we made the most of both doing our stay.
Nothing!
