  A peaceful hideaway

  What a great find! A peaceful and beautiful setting. The room was outstanding -- especially the semiprivate lanai and the comfy Sleep Number bed. We enjoyed bird-watching on the lawn and in the orchard, and eating fresh fruit from the orchard. We only used the common room once, to cook a pizza in the oven, but the kitchen over there is fantastic. Also the available (and free) laundry room was nice. Mahana House was a good jumping off point for things we wanted to do on this side of the island: Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Kea stargazing, a vanilla farm, and just the beautiful drives in the coastal rainforest. Hilo was about a 20 minute drive, but it seemed shorter as we got used to it.

  The pillows weren't great -- maybe having a couple more would have helped. And the frogs sang loudly all night, as advertised. No big deal -- we did close the sliding door to reduce the noise a bit. Ear plugs are provided, but we have trouble sleeping with those in. There was no one in the room next to ours, which was good because even conversations or TV noise two rooms down were quite noticeable inside ours. That's an unavoidable consequence of needing to have windows and doors open most of the time for the breezes. Or having to have the TV loud enough to hear over the frogs :) Also, be ready for rain. A LOT of rain. We knew this coming in, so again, not a problem.

  非常漂亮，环境优美，尤其喜欢猫的推荐。

  设施完备，各种厨具可以自己做饭，环境优美，房间非常大，整个农场也非常大，非常漂亮，阳台就可以看到大海，农场种了非常多的水果，橘子、龙眼、柠檬、椰子等，不用去超市采购水果，完全自给自足。还有几只可爱的猫咪，天天在门口等着找吃的。

  距离hilo还有一定距离，从Hilo需要开车近20-30分钟吧。

  This place made our Big Island trip even more special, and we’d happily stay here again next time!

  We absolutely loved our stay here! The room was very spacious, peaceful, and quiet, while still being an easy drive from Hilo. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and flexible. We came to the Big Island hoping to catch the volcanic eruption, but the timing kept getting delayed, and they were so understanding and willing to help us coordinate around our changing plans. The Wi-Fi was also excellent, which made it a great place to work remotely. But the best part, without a doubt, was the cats. 🥹 Every morning, we’d open the door and be greeted by the sweetest little faces saying good morning, and whenever we came back after a long day out, they would be there to welcome us home. They were all super friendly and somehow made all the travel exhaustion disappear instantly.
