    A charming historic building let down by tired upkeep and service that lacks common sense, far from what you'd expec

    The lobby is charming, the wallpaper in the bedrooms is lovely, and the little garden is a pleasant spot to relax.

    The first thing you notice is a persistent musty smell in the hallways and rooms. The hotel has had some cosmetic touch-ups, but it strongly needs a full renovation. The toilets do not flush properly, and i saw twice small insects in the bathtub. The laundry service was a low point. The price sheet advertises wash & fold at "$10 per pound", while the 5-pound minimum ($50) is easy to miss. I mentioned to staff that I only had a few items, and no one pointed out that it would cost $50 for three T-shirts and some underwear. When I raised it with management, the response was simply that prices can't be changed. Technically correct, but not very customer-minded. Communication via Booking.com and Instagram was poor, and after several months of operation the hotel still has no license to serve alcohol. I struggle to understand how this property meets Small Luxury Hotels of the World standards. I won't be returning and can't recommend it.

    Gorgeous property in a lovely quiet location

    Gorgeous building in a great location. Beautiful foyer and gardens. Breakfast was lovely. Room was great and well presented.

    Only downside was it was small and the shower was super tiny.
