Stunning views
A friendly small resort with the most stunning views. A short walk down to a fabulous beach where you can snorkel. The food was plentiful and divine. There is no air conditioning but that was manageable with fans and good ventilation. There are only a few bungalows which makes it intimate. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. I would have to day the best part of our stay here was the staff, they are the BEST people you will ever meet, at all the places i have stayed I can in all honesty tell you i have never had watery eyes saying goodbye until this trip. We would not think twice about staying here again,, they make you feel like family ❤️

So welcoming, friendly - they just made everything easy. Great vibes with a beautiful space and attentive staff, but still felt relaxed and authentic and not sterile like a resort. Beautiful grounds, and small, so very peaceful and private. There is great snorkelling right across the road if you go at high tide.

🌺 Magical Stay at Makaira Resort – A Slice of Paradise! My time at Makaira Resort in Taveuni was nothing short of incredible. The views, the peace, the warm hospitality—this place is a true hidden gem. A special shoutout to Mary, whose massage was beyond amazing. One of the best I’ve ever had—deeply relaxing, soulful, and set against the soothing sounds of the ocean. She truly has healing hands! If you’re looking to unwind and reconnect with nature (and yourself), Makaira is the place to be. Can’t wait to return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
