Great Service in a Very Good Hotel
We had a super room with a large comfortable bed and a bathroom; there was lots of storage space in the room, many charging points and space to sit. Breakfast choice was good with both heated and cold selections; eggs could be cooked on demand. Many of the tables had a good view over Stanley harbour. Hotel reception worked wonders with all our questions regarding car hire, the delay to our return flight and the airport shuttle. Extending our stay was no problem and they even arranged a car hire for us (also extended without problem) when a previously 'confirmed' car hire was not honoured. The hotel's restaurant provided evening meals with a good choice of local dishes together with wines and local beer. The bar was a well-used area for social gatherings; and there's also a cinema showing main circuit films.
We were surprised to be charged for the first night on our booking when it was impossible for our flight to land and - being a small island - the problem was widely known about. Breakfast items that had been cooked and held in bains-maries were usually cold. There was no shaver outlet in the bathroom. The bedside lamps did not work, although there were small reading lamps. One of the barmen regularly poured short-measure pints of beer and thought it funny when asked to top them up.

Amazing location with easy access to everything, super friendly and helpful staff. I also loved the bathroom - a nice hot bath after a cold day was perfect. I'd definitely love to return!

The Malvina House Hotel is such a friendly and welcoming place to stay in Stanley. Felt like family.
The location, in the middle of the capital, Stanley, and across the street from the museum, was very convenient. The included buffet breakfast was very British and very good.
I didn't like having to leave. After one week, I was just starting to unwind. I could have stayed forever.
