Dirty Furniture, pest problem, and lack of meaningful customer service means I wouldn't recommend
Initially, I was pleased on arrival at Maple Barn. The property looked as described, the location was peaceful and beautiful, and the bottle of Prosecco left for guests was a thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. When we went outside to use the patio, the table and chairs were scattered around rather than set up and were covered in bird droppings. Before we could use the outdoor space, I had to clean everything myself, which was disappointing considering the £150 cleaning fee. The beds were very comfortable, but the barn became extremely hot during warm weather. Although two fans were provided, they made very little difference, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The biggest issue was waking up the next morning to a major ant infestation in the kitchen. There were hundreds of ants, and they had even got into an unopened tube of ketchup in the cupboard. I ended up moving all of our food into the fridge and repeatedly cleaning up the ants throughout the day, only to find hundreds more returning every few hours. It really put a damper on what should have been a relaxing stay. After our stay, I contacted the property with photos of both the dirty patio furniture and the ant infestation. The only response I received was, "Thank you for letting us know." I also explained that I felt the £150 cleaning fee was difficult to justify given that I had to clean the patio before using it, but this part of my message received no response. Overall, while the property has potential thanks to its peaceful location and comfortable beds, I don't feel it offers good value for money. The cleanliness issues, pest problem, and lack of meaningful customer service meant I left disappointed, and I wouldn't recommend staying here at the current price.
Dirty furniture in patio. Cobwebs throughout. Ant infestation meaning food was ruined and couldn't be left in cupboard. The Shower is unusable given that I would need to go on my knees to use it and I'm 5ft 6. Therefore a bath is the only option.

Disappointed - could be so much better.
Has the potential to be really lovely with a bit of attention and a good clean.
Wasn’t very clean. Found a dirty sock from previous guests and lots of cobwebs. Ants in the kitchen. Tried contacting owners - felt like an AI response saying thanks for feedback.

A very quite picturesque place to stay
Location was perfect. Key code didn't work...it was pure luck I got into the property. No mattress protectors on the 2 single beds. There was info pack regarding refuse, dirty laundry, heating controls
On the whole it was good....Great location as my family live in Hickling
