Home away from home in - and no tourists to be seen!
Incredibly well appointed little house with everything you could need - very homely for a short or longer stay. Hosts were very generous and accommodating. I loved the location - while isolated with one small restaurant for the locals and no cafes, I think that's what makes it a perfect base for exploring the region. Drive to Archanes 15 minutes away for breakfast, or Heraklion for brunch. Knossos also less than 30 minutes away. And absolutely no other tourists! Just the friendly residents of Stironas.
For me personally, the pillows were a bit too thin, and mattress slightly too hard, and I wasn't 100% comfortable at night. But it depends on your preferences. With thicker pillows available I would have been fine.

Ήταν πάρα Πολύ καθαρό όλο το σπίτι, πολύ όμορφο εσωτερικά και η εξωτερική αυλή παρά πολύ ωραία και έχει και δικό του πάρκινγκ , η κουζίνα είχε τα πάντα και γενικά δεν έλειπε τίποτα από το σπίτι ότι χρειαζόμασταν το είχε , ευχαριστούμε πολύ περάσαμε πολύ ωραία

Cute little village house
The house is simply amazing, it is smartly modernized into one-space accomodation, with living space, kitchen and bathroom downstairs and an elevated bedroom above it. The kitchen utensils beyond what you could wish (even kinives, which is otherwise rare) including oil, salt, pepper, and generally the appartment is very well equiped (heating even in the bathroom, a fireplace - or AC depending on the season). There is a large private garden with a table outside, everything is super nicely decorated and arranged. Very kind host!
It could hardly have been better, but just a tip for future guests: by car it's easier to arrive from above, not directly from the center of the village; this tip could have saved us some energy on the steep way up.
