    Quirky, hospitable and charming

Fernando is a very gracious, intelligent, charming host and we loved chatting with him. (Note for those who are not Spanish speakers, his English is excellent.) The beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious with everyone's preferences taken into account - the morning we had to leave early for our tour of Xochimilco, he still made sure we had breakfast with fresh squeezed fruit juice and eggs. The courtyard area is beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing there after exploring Coyoacan. The area felt safe and quiet with lots of good restaurants, museums and shopping within easy walking distance.

It's an old building and some of the fixtures are wonky. It felt authentically Mexican but if you are used to chain hotels, it may not be to your liking.

Wonderful place to stay and relax. Getting to know Fernando was a treat.25

Fernando was an exceptional host. He is the most responsive host we've ever had. He was always available to answer questions and address issues as soon as they arose. He is an amazing cook and the breakfasts were delicious examples of Mexican food. There was always a bowl of cut up fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice at breakfast. We had some medical issues during our stay and we couldn't have dealt with them without Fernando's support and assistance. The house is in a residential neighborhood that offers many places to get coffee and wonderful pasteries as well as many places to get good food. I always felt safe in the house and when we walked around the neighborhood. The house is in easy walking distance from the mercado, the plazas, and the large church. A number of excellent restaurants are in the plazas. The house is also close to Freda Kahlo's house. Every weekend vendors set up booths in and around the plaza and residents come to eat and shop. It's exciting.
