A nice B&B in the centre of Wincanton

Nice B&B right in the middle of Wincanton for our one night stay at the beginning of our Monarch's Way walk. Door entry system. Comfortable downstairs lounge and breakfast area. Our room was large with plenty of space. The bathroom was separate and down the hall, very large, with a bath and hand held shower. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Katherine was a lovely, friendly host. Ate at the Nog round the corner for dinner; very good! Wincanton is a very noisy town with through traffic but the secondary double glazing to our room was fantastic, so a great night's sleep.

I have brought this up with Booking dot com before - "Breakfast included" should state what kind of breakfast it is, so the user can ascertain if it's good value. £150.00 for the night wasn't, but everywhere else in town was full. So, "Continental" (should include meats, cheese, tomatoes etc) "cereal" (breads, pastries, confiture) and "Full cooked" should mean just that. This was a cereal breakfast with little choice (only a croissant and sourdough; when will the British obsession with sourdough end?!) yoghourt and no fruit juice. The coffee machine wasn't in operation so we made our own cafetiere. I think the owners are new to the business so I do hope that these comments will be taken in the spirit in which they're intended. Our very best to them.

Fabulous - really comfortable and indulgent

My expectations were pretty high from the other reviews of this property so I half expected to be disappointed but I wasn't. I think the overwhelming memorable feature were the hosts Marc and Katherine - they were just so friendly and welcoming and really lovely to chat to. The property itself was really cute as well - so many lovely features and so comfortable to have a little relax before/after whatever you're doing.

Can't fault the room, the relax space, the hosts, the breakfast. Would have been nice to have had a little more time to enjoy some of the chill out spaces but that was down to our itinerary not the property/hosts. I'm a sucker for hot chocolate in the morning on holiday but the wide selection of teas more than made up for that too.

Wincanton is great place to stop over, wish we’d had time to support some of the local independant shops

    Beautifully decorated, quirky, fantastic host.

A very pleasant stay with likeable hosts who were most helpful and interacted well with their guests

Very good welcome from both our hosts. They were willing to do everything to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. Marc helped with our cases and with parking the car.

Worth a visit would consider again

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but had all the basics. Host was very kind and helpful. Surroundings were nice. Quiet place.

No onsite parking but public car park was 2/3 minutes away.
