A lovely, beautifully maintained apartment full of history and character, although the space is quite compact.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in Chania. It was beautifully maintained, comfortable and full of character. What we particularly loved was its history — the apartment is part of a house dating back to the Ottoman period, and many of the original features have been beautifully preserved. It really added to the experience of staying there. I knew when booking that it was a small apartment, and it was exactly that. The bedroom itself was a good size, although there is virtually no storage space for clothes, which could be a little challenging for a longer stay. The kitchenette was also smaller than I expected. There is an electric hob but no microwave, and the cooking area is quite tight, so it would be difficult to prepare anything elaborate. If, like us, you don’t plan on doing much cooking while on holiday, this shouldn’t be a problem. The bathroom is also very compact, as mentioned in other reviews. The window opens onto the shared courtyard, so there is little privacy when it’s open. The lovely courtyard is really the highlight of the property. It overlooks the fascinating archaeological excavations surrounding the apartment and is a beautiful place to sit and relax. As there isn’t really a separate living area inside the apartment, the courtyard becomes the main space to unwind. Overall, we really liked the apartment and its unique character. I would just recommend being aware of how compact the space is, particularly if you’re planning to stay for more than a couple of days or are looking for somewhere with plenty of storage and indoor living space. For a short stay in a historic and wonderfully atmospheric part of Chania, though, it was a lovely choice and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

It was such a fantastic way to start our trip and it set the bar high for the remainder of our trip.

    The location was fantastic!

    Nothing. It was perfect!

    Schöne Unterkunft in zentraler Lage.

Ideal location with everything you need.

There was no breakfast, but the location was ideal. The room was small but had everything. Overall a good place to have your vacation. Keep in mind that the solo room is a bit spartan vibes. If you want luxury then its not for you.

The toilet/shower in the room is so small that your legs dont really fit if you are 181cm. So doing nr 2 is problematic. I would say even impossible.
