    You must put a bar in the shower to protect from falling . Also a place to put bottles of shampoo.

    Room not entirely satisfactory, good service, excellent location.

    We stayed at Hotel Matilde for five nights for the second time. The hotel’s interiors are beautifully finished in white and gold with wood panelling. A particularly thoughtful feature is that the toilet in both rooms we have stayed in is separated from the bathroom by an additional door, providing welcome privacy from the main living area. The beds and other furnishings were excellent. On our first visit, we had a lovely, bright and quiet room. The only minor drawback was that the TV was awkwardly positioned and difficult to watch comfortably from either the bed or the sofa. One of the hotel’s highlights is its excellent breakfast, offering a wide and high-quality selection in pleasant surroundings, with plenty of space to enjoy it. The service staff were friendly and efficient, although we generally had to ask for things ourselves, such as a second cup of coffee. The housekeeping staff, on the other hand, were particularly attentive and considerate, making an effort to accommodate our preferences.

    Unfortunately, our room on this recent visit was much less appealing. Its only window faced a rather gloomy internal light well and was covered with sheer curtains to prevent overlooking, meaning that artificial lighting was needed throughout the day. There was also a drainpipe running through the wall, which could be surprisingly noisy when used, even at 4 a.m.
